In the dynamic world of entrepreneurship, specific individuals stand out for their success and unwavering commitment to empowerment. Sharon Garcia is a Latina entrepreneur who exemplifies kindness, compassion, and vision.
From her modest beginnings to her role in her industry, Garcia’s narrative is a testament to the transformative influence of passion and perseverance. Her upbringing, steeped in the values of hard work and resourcefulness, laid the foundation for her entrepreneurial journey, inspiring countless others.
Unbeknownst to her, she would embark on a path that would ultimately redefine her destiny.

Her mamá inspired Garcia to launch her cleaning company
Garcia’s entrepreneurial journey is deeply rooted in her Latina heritage. Like many of us, she grew up with Limpieza Saturdays, a cultural tradition where mamás, tías, and abuelas would crank up Luis Miguel, merengue, or salsa as they prepared for the home’s weekly despojo of dirt and grime.
She tells Latinidad Collective, “Well, what helped me see where I like cleaning was watching my mom clean for us 24/7.”
“I never noticed how much dust and dirt can build up on baseboards, and it wasn’t until I moved out by myself and I realized, wow, like my mom must have done this regularly,” Garcia continued.
The self-proclaimed CEO of Cleaning reminisced about how, growing up, her home always smelled like Fabuloso, a scent that would define her future career path.

“She would mop and clean every day, so our house always smelled like Fabuloso,” she asserted.
The pro cleaner added, “And for me, even the scent now is super nostalgic because it takes me back to how clean my mom [would make things]. And so that really [poured into] what I do for my clients.”
Her favorite scent? Fabuloso’s newest kid on the block, Watermelon.
Garcia understands the power a clean home can have on someone’s state of mind, which is why she began doing free cleanings
The Guatemalan-Colombian Latina cleaner typically charged clients for cleanings, but an act of compassion would later reframe her approach to cleaning. For Garcia, experiencing the kindness that came with free cleanings during a difficult time was transformative.

“So now, I do it for free, and I don’t even get paid for it. But that’s totally okay because I do it because when my parents were sick, and they were going through cancer at the time, we had our cleaners do free cleanings,” she explains.
“I thought, ‘Wow, like someone is going out of their way, like they’re not charging us for this.’ That really made me feel like, ‘Whoa, that’s really kind that someone is cleaning.’ For someone to do that out of the kindness of their heart like that really inspired me to go ahead and do free cleanings,” Garcia emphasized.
The Latina notes that when she walks into a miskept house, she doesn’t think of it as “disgusting” or “dirty.” Instead, she focuses on the power that having a “clean, healthy environment” can make.
She asserts, “I just think like I’m going to make their life better. I’m gonna help them.”

Eventually, her hard work would see Garcia start a partnership with the brand that defined her childhood
Kindness and hard work don’t go unnoticed. As a business owner, Garcia understands that entrepreneurship can be challenging. But she also understands that when you get a win, it is typically a big one.
So, when Fabuloso approached her to become their spokesperson, a full-circle moment occurred — a bittersweet one.
“I remember just the feeling was like it was super bittersweet, and it was bittersweet because as excited and happy [as I was], I couldn’t just call my mom and share the news with her,” she shared.
Garcia continued, “And I know that she would just be super happy about it because she used it growing up, and that’s the reason why I used it as an adult and in my cleaning business.”

The pet mom reveals that her mom used Fabuloso as an all-purpose cleaner, whereas Garcia only thought of it as a floor cleaner. She cites that being “part of a team” she already loved is “super amazing.”
“I am super happy about it, and like I said, it was bittersweet not being able to share that news with my mom, who would have been ecstatic about it. I’m sure we would have had a little Fabuloso dance,” she concludes.
